Professional Sports Teams: Basketball * NBAIt's astounding that a sport that developed by throwing a ball into peach basket hung on the side of a barn has developed into a world wide sport. Basketball is one of the fastest moving sports around, besides Nascar. And physical size is important unlike some other sports. If you're not over six feet tall you're not going to play. There are only 5 team players on the court at one time so each member's performance is critical to the game. There are hundreds, if not thousands of different rules that govern the way that ball is played in the National Basketball Association. These rules cover everything from court size to the duties of the officials. If you're somewhat unfamiliar with the game, however, here is a brief overview of how it is played without putting too much emphasis on the details. More on Basketball Not all of us have the co-ordination and talent to play sports at the professional level. Don't let that stop you. Get up out of that chair and get going. Play tennis, go for a brisk swim or go bowling. It doesn't matter what you do as long as you get moving. If the weather is bad consider an indoor sport like billiards. The only equipment you need are Pool Cues. Game parlors have tables for rent.
Professional Sports Teams: Baseball * MLBThe American past time and considered by many fans to be one of the greatest team sports ever. There have been movies made about baseball, "Field of Dreams," "The Natural," even musicals "Damn Yankees." Baseball captures the hearts of its fans unlike any other sport. Throughout the history of professional baseball, there have been a select few who have gained legendary status. Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson and even some newer names such as Wade Boggs. Each of these individuals had a few things in common. They all had a love for the sport and they all pushed themselves to the point where they exceeded those that they were playing with. Their will to win was greater than their team mates. Anybody want a ballpark hotdog with all the fixins? More on Baseball
Professional Sports Teams: Football * NFLNow this is a team sport and based on the territorial imperative. Football depends on each member of the team doing his job at the same time, whether offense or defense. The quarterback may be considered the key player but without his offensive line, running backs, and receivers just where would he be? Defense can win a football game, which is unusual in the world of sports. Support your team and show your spirit wear authentic NFL jerseys
Golf * PGAGolf is one of those frustrating sports that seems easy at first. How hard could it be? You just hit the ball into a hole in the ground. And yet success seems to be elusive for many. It's a game best played for the joy of it. Winning at golf isn't really possible. You can beat someone else but you can't win the game itself. What other sport gives you the enjoyment of crisp green grass, gentle breezes, and the camaraderie of 3 other genteel players in your foursome? More on Golf
Professional Sports Teams: SoccerIs soccer becoming an all American sport just like the NFL, MLB, and the NBA? Given that soccer is a fast growing sport for both boys and girls it should become more popular every year. It doesn't take many years in order for something to have an interesting history. This is the case in American soccer, something that is only been around for a very short period of time. It's interesting, though, how the entire sport evolved. Here is a brief history about the sport and how it came to be an additional major league activity in the United States. More on Soccer Talking soccer with friends is part of being a fan. If you're looking for online sites for soccer, also search under football, as that's what most of the rest of the world calls soccer. A football blog is one way to catch up on what's happening and where.
